Not entirely comprehensive but a very good middle-ground text. Lot's of good images and very easy to read format. Highly recommended.

I have used this book prior to buying it and found it very useful. Only downside is not cardiac ultrasound section.
Customer rating is 5 of 5  A good residency book   2009-11-15

This review honestly is not totally personal..
I was told by many residents in our program that this book would be THE ultrasound book I would need.
After I started reading it and referring back to it when faced by many different clinical settings I believe the advise I got is true.
The book is well organized with appropriate headings and subheadings for general, vascular and OB/GYN ultrasound disease.
Its language is straightforward and each section simplifies the findings and nicely describes the differential diagnosis.
This is what I was told about this book and personally find in it.
Customer rating is 5 of 5  Excellent US text   2009-04-22

Very good and practical coverage on most aspects of US, particularly thyroid US. This book is a bargain compared to Rumack's which is the US Bible for many radiologists. A resident can pick up and read this text unlike Rumack's however (very large two volume set) and the authors facilitate this by providing labeled US images of basic anatomy before delving into each section.

The only thing I would like to see included would be a section on peripheral arterial US which is something that is is encountered alot more frequently in community practice then when I was training. I would drop the MSK section from the book even though it is well-written because it is something most practices do not perform since most US techs and radiologists have little if any training in MSK US.

Hi everybody,
Recently I got hold of this excellent book. As a starter in the field of Imaging Diagnostics and having spend several years in the Clinics, I should say that this book is a real "prerequisite" for everyone who wants to have clear-cut explanations of 80% of all diagnostic criteria in US. Even if you do not have any knowledge about US - the book will take care.
It is organized clearly, for quick reference, excellent quality of the images and the content coverage.
After you read it, you can have the confidence and start diagnosing on your own, not asking the Senior for every detail.
The rest - you will find in the encyclopedic textbooks.
I firmly recommend it.
